ShrimperZone CC v Up Goes The Finger

Interesting finish to the season:

1. Up Goes The Finger..13 13 0 0 52 26.42
2. Peruvian Farmers.....13 10 0 3 40 23.02
3. ShrimperZone CC.....13 7 0 6 28 10.42
4. Eppleton CC............13 7 0 6 28 1.65
5. Parkway Sports.......13 6 0 7 24 -2.24
6. The Guvnors...........13 4 0 9 16 -4.45

Peruvian Farmers v Parkway Sports
ShrimperZone CC v Up Goes The Finger
The Guvnors v Eppleton CC

1st and 2nd all decided. We play the unbeaten leaders who boast a rather impresssive line up. We need to avoid a big NRR swing to avoid a qualifier, though this also relies on Parkway beating the Farmers (which they are more than capable of). Eppleton should win, Guvnors only have that many points as Yamas and Thommos Trojans both had a fire sale. Fully sublime so a rare GFI for us. With 5 players in the oppositions line up of 200k+ BTR that may not make much difference!

Whatever happens, we thought we'd finish 7th at the start of the season so have exceeded expectations.

BATTY SHRIMPERS v ends of the earth

Win and we're in a relegation play-off, lose and we complete the triple. Bowlers are all knackered (1 Lively, 4 Fresh), but they all have to play. We're on a GFI obviously, but my oppo played in a bot in FC this week, so they'll all be Sublime. I can only see this going one way....

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

DIBS DIPPERS v highton

Mrs BB has already won her division, and sits in 5th place in the promotion table. If she wins, she's automatically promoted, if she loses she could end up in a play-off as the sides just below the line have better NRR's. She's at full-strength, on a GFI, with everyone at Sublime.

We've been put into bat which is probably an early nail in our coffin. Sunny day so no chance of bowling them out. Just have to try to get as many runs on the board as possible and hope the NRR doesn't suffer too much. Not a good start though as Sini falls early.

End of Over 5: 18-1, runrate=3.60
Shakes 3-0-7-1
Cunningham* 15 (12 balls)
Lamey 1 (10 balls)

Last Wicket: Sinethemba c. Wasim b. Shakes 1 (FOW: 14/1)

Steady start by the oppo after we won the toss and inserted...

BATTY SHRIMPERS v ends of the earth

We can tell you that BATTY SHRIMPERS won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking quite cracked! A field day for the seam bowlers I would reckon on this sunny day.

End of Over 6: 23-0, runrate=3.83
Lindop 3-0-9-0
Sangha* 15 (19 balls)
Baumforth 6 (17 balls)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I think Mrs BB is going to be OK.

DIBS DIPPERS v highton (4525330)

We can tell you that highton won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking a bit on the dry side. A fair bit of help for the spinners I think on this sunny day.

End of Over 6: 43-0, runrate=7.17
Nidhan 3-0-24-0
Stride* 11 (14 balls)
Potter 32 (22 balls)

Welcome to BWB CG for the match between BWB and Southend.

We can tell you that BWB won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking a touch on the green side. All the seam bowlers have been out there rubbing their hands on this partially cloudy and humid day.

Let’s join our team for ball-by-ball commentary.

End of Over 7: 28-3, runrate=4.00
Campbell 4-1-17-3
Tsietsi* 14 (16 balls)
Granville 0 (4 balls)
Last Wicket: Healy c. Mclauchlan b. Campbell 0 (FOW: 28/3)

Play off for me next week...

It's been a productive 8 days gate receipt wise!

20/04/2010 Played a match and received £498,720 in gate receipts.
18/04/2010 Played a match and received £20,867 in gate receipts.
16/04/2010 Played a match and received £434,900 in gate receipts.

I sit fourth and play the top team away who have only lost once. GFI and put in to bat on a H&F pitch, on a partially cloudy and humid day.

Being pinned down by their 2 £70k p/w openers.

End of Over 10: 35-0, runrate=3.50
Razick 5-2-8-0
Marcel* 15 (17 balls)
Hoult 19 (43 balls)

Richie is run out which is a bummer as he had the measure of their top bowler and was scoring well.

End of Over 12: 53-2, runrate=4.42
Brendell 1-0-1-0
Mcleod* 1 (3 balls)
Lamey 14 (30 balls)

Last Wicket: Cunningham Run Out 34 (FOW: 52/2)

Sunny day but a dusty top! GFI...

End of Over 18: 69-3, runrate=3.83
Guy 4-0-18-0
Butt* 13 (17 balls)
Brammar 32 (41 balls)

Last Wicket: Fisher b. Cook 0 (FOW: 26/3)

Great start but these lot are strong all over the park and bat pretty deep!

Kev

Looks like we're going to be chasing a sizeable total. Luckily the batters are a lot fitter than the bowlers.

BATTY SHRIMPERS v ends of the earth

BATTY SHRIMPERS won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: Cracked

End of Over 20: 93-0, runrate=4.65
Burns 5-0-25-0
Sangha* 46 (60 balls)
Baumforth 41 (60 balls)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mrs BB stuttering a bit.

DIBS DIPPERS v highton

highton won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: Dusty

End of Over 21: 109-3, runrate=5.19
Horne 4-0-13-2
Potter* 56 (56 balls)
Morgan 3 (9 balls)

Last Wicket: Hutton c. Bracey b. Pietersen 10 (FOW: 102/3)

Macca goes but a decent little partnership. Every run counts for NRR as Parkway have made a decent start against the Farmers.

End of Over 24: 96-3, runrate=4.00
Proffitt 2-0-9-1
Sandile* 5 (8 balls)
Lamey 33 (68 balls)

Last Wicket: Mcleod c. Swayne b. Proffitt 19 (FOW: 89/3)

Painfully slow here (17 runs from 11 overs) but I guess that's fine if we can hold wickets in hand for the final 10. If we can get over 200 the NRR drop should be no more than 2.

End of Over 33: 108-3, runrate=3.27
Howland 10-3-23-0
Lamey* 36 (96 balls)
Sandile 13 (34 balls)

Last Wicket: Mcleod c. Swayne b. Proffitt 19 (FOW: 89/3)

Big 10 overs coming up, anything less than 80 off them and we've got a chance...

BATTY SHRIMPERS v ends of the earth

BATTY SHRIMPERS won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: Cracked

End of Over 40: 167-1, runrate=4.18
Burns 10-1-53-0
Campbell* 7 (8 balls)
Baumforth 84 (110 balls)

Last Wicket: Sangha c. Evelyn b. Frazer 68 (FOW: 157/1)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mrs BB's lot having a bit of a choke...

DIBS DIPPERS v highton

highton won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: Dusty
The players are off the field for the break between innings.

End of Over 40: 197-10, runrate=4.93
Pietersen 9-0-49-3
Gowland* 6 (10 balls)

By virtue of not being skittled I think it's now impossible for Parkway to overhaul the NRR difference so all being well we should finish 4th. As for the match itself, this is about 70 runs short of what it needs to be and they should knock it off with ease.

End of Over 47: 196-4, runrate=4.17
Wasim 9-0-61-1
Marriott* 23 (21 balls)
Sandile 53 (76 balls)

Last Wicket: Lamey c. Swayne b. Wasim 60 (FOW: 157/4)

So far, so good in the last 10, can we keep it going for another 2 overs...

BATTY SHRIMPERS v ends of the earth

BATTY SHRIMPERS won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: Cracked

End of Over 48: 226-2, runrate=4.71
Singh 9-0-50-1
Graddon* 10 (7 balls)
Campbell 39 (32 balls)

Last Wicket: Baumforth c. Burns b. Singh 101 (FOW: 209/2)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mrs BB's going to have to bowl them out to win...

DIBS DIPPERS v highton

highton won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: Dusty

End of Over 6: 33-1, runrate=5.50, reqrunrate=3.75 (197-10)
Mackin 3-0-11-1
Osborn* 3 (9 balls)
Howard 1 (4 balls)

Last Wicket: Bucknell c. Mohammed b. Mackin 27 (FOW: 31/1)

249 needed to avoid auto-relegtion...

BATTY SHRIMPERS v ends of the earth

BATTY SHRIMPERS won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: Cracked
The players are off the field for the break between innings.

End of Over 50: 247-2, runrate=4.94
Singh 10-0-65-1
Campbell* 52 (39 balls)
Graddon 18 (12 balls)

Last Wicket: Baumforth c. Burns b. Singh 101 (FOW: 209/2)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mrs BB's oppo has slowed down after that wicket.

DIBS DIPPERS v highton

highton won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: Dusty

End of Over 8: 37-1, runrate=4.63, reqrunrate=3.83 (197-10)
Mackin 4-1-11-1
Osborn* 4 (13 balls)
Howard 4 (12 balls)

Last Wicket: Bucknell c. Mohammed b. Mackin 27 (FOW: 31/1)

Not a bad effort from where we were. Going to have to hope that Barrowdale and Digana can dig a couple out early then let the spinners strangle the middle overs. Never going to happen though!! Max NRR loss is 1.5 though and Parkway would have to bowl the Farmers out for next to nothing to catch me.

End of Over 50: 226-4, runrate=4.52
Shakes 10-0-54-1
Sandile* 71 (85 balls)
Marriott 35 (30 balls)

Last Wicket: Lamey c. Swayne b. Wasim 60 (FOW: 157/4)

Delicately poised in the other games with Farmers and Eppleton chasing 268 and 253 respectively.

End of Over 50: 251-5, runrate=5.02
Raven 10-0-57-0
Brammar* 114 (126 balls)
Allen 11 (11 balls)

Last Wicket: Roper c. Browne b. Cook 31 (FOW: 230/5)

Not as good as i'd have first hoped tbh!! Going to have to chase it to confirm III survival. Lose and 5th 6th and 7th all win then i'll end up being relegated automatically!!

5th place TDC need to defend 244 to win.

6th place dirty dogs got skittled for 189 and EGV are 35-0 in reply.

7th place Goochies Great got bowled out for 229.
