Stumpys v ShrimperZone CC

5th v 3rd, evenly matched but we've had to rest HHH who's stuck at fresh fitness after the extended toil against Parkway. Probably makes them favourites, though I don't know what their fitness is like. A low scoring game in prospect given the pitch and weather so every run counts, they can give us as many b4s as they like!!

Welcome to Stumpys CG for the match between Stumpys and ShrimperZone CC.

We can tell you that Stumpys won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking a touch on the green side. All the seam bowlers have been out there rubbing their hands on this partially cloudy and humid day.

End of Over 1: 7-0, runrate=7.00
Turnbull 1-0-3-0
Sinethemba* 3 (2 balls)
Lamey 0 (4 balls)

0.6 b4 Turnbull to Lamey
Oh yes. The bouncer from Turnbull and oh my word... that is poor, poor keeping. Straight through the gloves, didn't even look like catching that one and its raced away for four byes.

BATTY SHRIMPERS (3rd) v Cheesewire (2nd)

Battle between 2 of the 3 sides with a 100% record. His £1.5m pw wage bill must make him favourite, but we've made an excellent start. Rested a few in FC this week especially for this game, unfortunately I played Fitz and he knackered himself in a losing cause, so his PFL is down to Lively, consequently he bats at 4 today, otherwise it's full-strength. Obviously we're on a GFI...

We can tell you that Cheesewire won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking a bit on the dry side. A fair bit of help for the spinners I think on this partially cloudy and humid day.

End of Over 16: 92-0, runrate=5.75
Howell 3-0-15-0
Pollock* 62 (52 balls)
Evelyn 30 (44 balls)

DIBS DIPPERS (2nd) v Fenwick CC (5th)

Mrs BB looking for a win after a disappointing week. Full-strength although she's a bowler down after selling Shah on Monday.

We can tell you that Fenwick CC won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking quite cracked! A field day for the seam bowlers I would reckon on this partially cloudy and humid day.

End of Over 16: 99-1, runrate=6.19
Round 3-0-18-0
Stride* 9 (8 balls)
Zubair 41 (45 balls)

Last Wicket: Titterton Run Out 48 (FOW: 83/1)

Hard to gauge what a good score is here, 180 maybe? Laws is their weakest bowler so we need to capitalise, not much decent batting left after this without HHH playing.

End of Over 21: 78-3, runrate=3.71
Laws 1-0-4-0
Guneratne* 34 (45 balls)
Wanless 15 (21 balls)

Last Wicket: Cunningham c. Hadland b. Elmes 3 (FOW: 54/3)

Welcome to Southend United CG for the match between Southend United and Reykjaví*k CC.

We can tell you that Southend United won the toss and elected to bat. The pitch is looking quite cracked! A field day for the seam bowlers I would reckon on this partially cloudy and humid day.

End of Over 23: 102-3, runrate=4.43
Muirhead 5-0-30-1
Joost* 0 (2 balls)
Tyler 8 (4 balls)
Last Wicket: Ray c. Rudd b. Muirhead 21 (FOW: 94/3)

200's probably about par. Anything over 215 should be more than enough..

Polly goes for a run-a-ball 84, but we're still doing very well.

Similar to B, I'm not sure what a par score is (Dusty / PC+H), I'm guessing around 225...

BATTY SHRIMPERS v Cheesewire

Cheesewire won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: Dusty

End of Over 27: 134-1, runrate=4.96
Bucknor 4-0-13-1
Evelyn* 50 (78 balls)
Lindop 0 (0 balls)

Last Wicket: Pollock b. Bucknor 84 (FOW: 134/1)

Looks like Mrs BB is going to rattle up a decnet score.

DIBS DIPPERS v Fenwick CC

Fenwick CC won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: Cracked

End of Over 27: 151-1, runrate=5.59
Irving 4-0-26-0
Zubair* 64 (74 balls)
Stride 38 (45 balls)

Last Wicket: Titterton Run Out 48 (FOW: 83/1)

Laws is their weakest bowler so we need to capitalise
A surefire way of ensuring he takes out my best batsman.

End of Over 29: 117-4, runrate=4.03
Laws 5-0-16-1
Wanless* 33 (41 balls)
Sandile 4 (4 balls)

Last Wicket: Guneratne c. Stephens b. Laws 51 (FOW: 113/4)

If these two can stay in till the final 10 we could yet pass 200.

End of Over 35: 141-4, runrate=4.03
Elmes 8-1-33-2
Wanless* 46 (60 balls)
Sandile 15 (21 balls)

Last Wicket: Guneratne c. Stephens b. Laws 51 (FOW: 113/4)

they're beaten me twice last season. But new signing, only a quality/remarkable, gets 3 wickets on his debut

End of Over 41: 176-6, runrate=4.29
Fisher 6-0-24-0
Jeffries* 38 (57 balls)
Bolder 4 (10 balls)
Last Wicket: Doyley c. Dirkin b. Abbott 2 (FOW: 160/6)

Beatable, if my top order stay in...

End of Over 50: 209-9, runrate=4.18
van Niekerk 10-1-28-2
Albertus* 1 (2 balls)
Jeffries 60 (82 balls)
Last Wicket: Strydom b. van Niekerk 0 (FOW: 208/9)

The players are off the field for the break between innings.

End of Over 50: 242-3, runrate=4.84
Metcalfe 10-0-36-1
Tyler* 71 (84 balls)
Joost 75 (86 balls)
Last Wicket: Ray c. Rudd b. Muirhead 21 (FOW: 94/3)

37 runs off the last ten, not good enough. Made two early breakthroughs but need a few more if we're to have any chance, BFG just went for 14 so the RR isn't in the equation.

End of Over 14: 57-2, runrate=4.07, reqrunrate=3.75 (191-6)
Graham 2-0-16-0
Gillan* 27 (46 balls)
Stephens 24 (29 balls)

Last Wicket: Minhajuddin Run Out 3 (FOW: 7/2)

ugh.... playing French Foreign Legion, tried a pitch change to cracked as he didn't have any quicks in an attempt to knock out his top order. It failed dismally and they put on 302-3. we're on 94-3 in response, up on the run rate but need Sooky and O'Donague to get us to 200 at least to give us a chance.

ugh.... playing French Foreign Legion
Wow, I was in the same IV as him back in about Seasons 4-7!! He's still an SZ Alliance member as well!

I've been given a bit more hope by seeing that my oppo only bat down to 6. Problem is, we really don't look like taking a wicket at the moment and they're scoring pretty freely.

End of Over 20: 87-2, runrate=4.35, reqrunrate=3.50 (191-6)
Graham 5-0-28-0
Gillan* 43 (66 balls)
Stephens 38 (45 balls)

Last Wicket: Minhajuddin Run Out 3 (FOW: 7/2)

Can't get a wicket, and we can't dry up the run-rate, not looking good at the moment

BATTY SHRIMPERS v Cheesewire

Cheesewire won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: Dusty

End of Over 23: 133-0, runrate=5.78, reqrunrate=4.93 (265-2)

Looking good for Mrs BB.

DIBS DIPPERS v Fenwick CC

Fenwick CC won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: Cracked

End of Over 23: 101-4, runrate=4.39, reqrunrate=5.59 (251-7)
Rogan 5-0-32-0
Mcphee* 31 (44 balls)
Mbeki 35 (46 balls)

Last Wicket: Irving b. Arnold 11 (FOW: 37/4)

* sigh *

End of Over 23: 123-1, runrate=5.35, reqrunrate=4.00 (230-3)
Johnson 2-0-5-0
Cable* 70 (68 balls)
Wakeman 51 (63 balls)

Last Wicket: Abbas c. Johnson b. Ikramullah 2 (FOW: 10/1)

This sums my game up, the spinners have conceded a boundary or six pretty much every over since they came on. Just one wicket and we have a chance but the seamers aren't going to get back on in time. Should have played HHH no matter how unfit he was, he'd love these conditions.

End of Over 25: 117-2, runrate=4.68, reqrunrate=3.00 (191-6)
Marriott 6-0-40-0
Stephens* 55 (62 balls)
Gillan 56 (79 balls)

Last Wicket: Minhajuddin Run Out 3 (FOW: 7/2)

24.6 6 Marriott to Gillan
That's gone way into the stands. Six runs!
24.5 . Marriott to Gillan
Padded away outside off stump.
24.4 . Marriott to Gillan
Probably a little risky for Gillan to have rocked back on to the back foot but safely enough played.
24.3 . Marriott to Gillan
Forward, defends to the off.
24.2 . Marriott to Gillan
Gillan saunters down the wicket but gets nowhere near the pitch of the ball, he thrusts a pad at it to prevent him from being stumped. Good cricket all round there.
24.1 . Marriott to Gillan
Umbrellas are up, but is that because of spits of rain in the air or cover from bright sunshine? On the pitch action carries on with the play and miss.

EDIT: lol

25.1 4 Benjamin to Stephens
Stephens pivots on his heel for that leg side ball, hitting it behind him down to a vacant fine leg.

What a load of gash. PCH and green pitch and their £30k wage 20yo hits a century and carries his bat. Fitness was the key here and I didn't expect to win but to take the two wickets I can't believe we couldn't muster one more up.

And that's the end of the match. Stumpys won by 8 wickets.
ShrimperZone CC 191-6
Stumpys 193-2

End of Over 45: 193-2, runrate=4.29
Gustav 7-1-14-0
Stephens* 100 (124 balls)
Gillan 87 (134 balls)
