OD - Week 8

MrB

Life President
I'll be trundling up to sunny Lincoln for the weekend tomorrow so will start now. And no, I'm not going to see Tilly!

Stansfield Superjets v ShrimperZone CC

8th v 2nd but it's not as simple as that as it's such a strong division (we've topped the league batstats several times in exchange with BB's league). Had I not signed the bowler today I'd probably be struggling but he's in and we're GFI after Sunday's stupid cup exit. Means BB should get an easy ride on Saturday but BBM are going to cruise it anyway. Next season.....

On that note, both Dream Frequency and Legendary Knights have signed up for the SZ League next season so the competition will be even more fierce. The SZ League is rapidly becoming known as the top rated friendly league out there, helps that 6 of us are in the top 30 of England!! 7 if you include BBM.

BATTY SHRIMPERS (4th) v Crantock (1st)

We take on the team of 6 Intl's and sod all else. We're all at Sublime, so we're obviously on a GFI. The rest of our division is rooting for me today, as we're all hacked off about the way my oppo plays the game.

Gone as well as could be expected so far, but still not sure we'll get within 70 of his total.

We can tell you that BATTY SHRIMPERS won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking a bit on the dry side. A fair bit of help for the spinners I think on this partially cloudy and humid day.

The players are off the field for the break between innings.

End of Over 44: 173-10, runrate=3.93
Wilkey 9-2-22-3
Yorke* 7 (36 balls)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

DIBS DIPPERS (3rd) v Peruvian Farmers (6th)

Mrs BB not bowling very well in handy conditions.

We can tell you that DIBS DIPPERS won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking quite cracked! A field day for the seam bowlers I would reckon on this partially cloudy and humid day.

End of Over 47: 236-2, runrate=5.02
Mohammed 9-0-42-0
Kealeboga* 96 (122 balls)
Toulson 110 (134 balls)

Last Wicket: Mackintosh c. Stride b. Arnold 23 (FOW: 49/2)

Easy win as Rascals' have given up the ghost for this season. Wierdly enough, she wanted to bowl first so i got 300+ and bowled them out. She messaged me Thurs eve and i ready the message about 1pm yesterday! Handy! :'(

Great win for us, fell to 98-5 but Wanless and Graham held in their to give us a total to defend and a steady flow of wickets to keep them in check saw them fall 18 runs short. 2nd place should be ours now.

My opps also threw the towel in. Surprising but handy. Moves me up to 5th but only 4 points clear though I have much better NRR. However I'm not anticipating winning the next two games.
