Rednapp was overlooked get over it!

More to the point having read several books where many ex players stated Brian Clough back in the day should have got the gig and who knows he could have ended the hurt.

Yes, Brian Clough should probably have been appointed England manager in the 1970s. However I think him being dead ruled him out when the FA made an excellent appointment in Hodgson.

The expectations have over the years became less and less and IMO rightly so as we flatter to deceive every time,We qualify against the minnows then once in the tournament proper we simply cannot match the better teams be it missing penalties or just being battered.

No English person wants this but ATM that is the way it it.

Actually we don't flatter to deceive. Based on size of population and economy we punch our weight. The problem is that most England fans have a superiority complex.

Football ability isnt of course solely based on population or America, India and China would all be awesome.

Compared to other countries that have the same interest in the sport and the same level of professional leagues we do as you say punch our weight.

Which is, of course, absolute rubbish as they never even contacted him.

That is what they say!

Ex players and the bookies had HR installed as the manager then suddenly the FA swerved him,My guess is the court case put them off.

Anyway you are convinced where is your proof?

We know he was not offered the job,My point was he was well in the frame yet for some reason the FA chose otherwise! And I meant where is your proof from the FA he was never even considered after all you seem to know plenty about the corridors of FA power:thumbsup:

Come on now, you're confusing yourself.

I said Hodgson was first choice. You said the FA were going to appoint Redknapp until his court case stopped them. I said that was nonsense, as evidenced by Redknapp's admission that they never even contacted him about it.

What newspapers, bookmakers and ex-players of his have to say is utterly irrelevant if Redknapp himself has since come out and said the FA never once ran it past him.
