Referee for tomorrow is Premiership Select Group reject, Steve Tanner from Somerset. Never really made it at the highest level but should be good enough four our "playing for pride" match.
In his 7th season, he has refereed Southend 7 times before with mixed results:
3/4 Bury H won 1-0
Torquay A lost 3-0
4/5 Oxford H won 4-0
5/6 Doncaster H lost 1-0
6/7 Wolves A lost 3-1
Cardiff A won 1-0
Luton H lost 3-1
...... perhaps due a draw ?
Because of his promotion and our relegation, paths have not crossed for a few years but now he too has been "relegated".
His 31 games this season have seen an above average 103 yellows and a very much above average 9 reds.
His assistants will be Ms. Sasa Ihringova from Shrewsbury or thereabouts and Tony Peart from North Yorkshire. 4th Official is Carl Dunn from Stafford.
