Post-Match Thread and Ratings Oldham FC 3-2 Southend Utd

It’s going to take a long time to get over that one. Did they probably just about edge it? Maybe.. but I don’t care about that. I’m more ****ed off over the fact we’ve got the football league in our hands and a couple of minutes lapse of concentration sees us staying in this god forsaken league. I’m proud of what the boys have done this season but I’m afraid they’ve thrown that one away today.

Was that a foul on Taylor by Norwood before he scored their second? Looked very much like it to me but neither ref seemed to want to give much to us today.
That said we didn't put our chances away and that's cost us at the end of the day.

Didn't expect to get to Wembley so it was a day out.
Onwards and upwards for next season

Incredible performance from the team. Can’t ask for much more than that, a couple of minutes and a couple of mistakes away from winning that, and left it all out there.

Goodliffe was running on fumes before the 90, let alone before the second half of extra-time. Taylor was immense but there’s only so many miracles you can ask of him. Hayes once again left looking like the weakest link.

Another season to consolidate, strengthen the front line which was evident we were lacking the cutting edge off the bench, and in goal, and we can be contenders again. Carlisle, York, and others won’t make it easy, but in April I didn’t think we’d make the play-offs this year.
