Billy Paynter played 90 minutes for Bradford under caretaker boss David Weatherall's first game. Paynter was booked. Bradford drew 1-1.

James Lawson made his Dagenham debut, playing the last 17 minutes of their 2-1 win at home to York.

Charles Ademeno came off the bench to help Cambridge rescue a point at home to Southport in a 2-2 draw.

Joel Ledgister's Gravesend weren't playing.

Up front, Southend scholar Charles Ademeno will make his first start after four impressive appearances from the bench. The 17-year-old has scored once and always causes problems with his pace, and Quinn feels the youngster has earned his chance.

"I'm starting with Charles and Robbie (Simpson) tonight," he told cambridgeunited.com. "Dan Chillingworth has done well for us and Wayne Purser looked lively when he came on on Saturday too, but Charles is only here on work experience so Southend will want him for their reserves again tomorrow if he doesn't start tonight, and it's time to give him a start.

"He's been excellent in the games he's come on in and he always makes an impact."

It seems like he did OK as well

"....in the 67th minute, and four minutes later Charles Ademeno was withdrawn to deserved applause to be replaced by Dan Chillingworth."
