Does the MK Dons result tonight mean that there are now 2 teams with a 100% record v the Red Devils?

Strictly for the record books, don't MK Dons count the same as Wimbledon?

But we're the only English club with a 100% win record against Fergies Man Utd! :winking:

I'm sure Wimbledon played Man United lots of times.

Cant pick and choose which parts of the history they want. I've heard they still list Wimbledon's honours in the programme.

Lets face it even Aldershot could probably beat Man Ure these days .... WE played em when they were the one of the best teams in world football.

No, those got handed over - AFC Wimbledon won the 1988 FA Cup.

Considering the side we played had around 7 or 8 first team regulars of the time in their team, including the two R's, and as already said was in the Fergie era when they were one of if not the top side in Europe, our result against them was more remarkable. However the record books will unfortunately say MKD's record against Man U is also played one, won one. Lets hope they draw them again in the FA Cup & put the record books back as they should be!

Their side contained 10 internationals, and 8 of the side that played against us, went on to thrash Roma 7-1 in a Champions League game later that season.

Nope, Wimbledon / MK Dons won the FA Cup. MK Dons are a renamed version of Wimbledon. Much the same as any honours Arsenal won in Woolwich are still theirs. Just because they gave the trophies to Merton Council doesn't mean they relinquish the titles.

We keep the record (for English clubs). End of story.

MK Dons agreed to relinquish their claim to the trophies that were won prior to 2004 though. So the 1988 FA Cup appears on Wimbledon's honours board, but not MK's. What a mess.

Here's the official stuff anyway:

Southend United is the only British team Alex Ferguson faced and failed to beat. That record can never be taken away from us.
