Now Oxley is done and dusted, Lets all hope we can wrap up Cox by the end of the week.

I think a 3 year deal is about right for a 27/28 year old keeper of his quality.

Very solid news. Sign Coxy and Turner up as well and then we can wait for really new players to roll up.I wonder whether the cost for Oxley will trim CP's new player budget elsewhere.

Terrific news, congratulations to Mark, looking forward to seeing the leagues best keeper in action again soon

So pleased with that. Well done Southend United, a great marker of our ambition and his connection with the club as he would definitely have been in demand.

Fantastic news !!!

Didn't somebody say, that Ron offered him the best deal for any goalkeeper in League One?

In that case, now that we have Oxley and Bishop signed up until 2021. I wonder what the clubs plan is in regards to Ted Smith and Josh Bexon?.. perhaps put one of them out on loan or to be released?

Do you think we need 4 goalkeepers on our payroll? if we have payed out a huge wage on Oxley. Three goalkeepers would make sense to me.

Oxley signs new three year deal with Blues

MARK Oxley has signed a new three year deal with Southend United.

Thought the same also

Reckon Ted will go now, he is at an age where he needs 1st team football, I can see him dropping down to conference level though...

Great news on the Ox signing, sends out a statement that we mean business, hoping it will entice Cox to stay and others to come down to the seaside!!

i'd personally rather keep Ted and send Bexon out on loan to another higher league non league side (like we did with Wabo).

I think Ted would get enough game time in all the early cup competitions (depending on the draws) as well as an odd league game or three, if Oxley gets a knock and needs to be rested for a game or two during the season.

I would rather have Ted Smith between the sticks, than Bexon as a replacement ... But I guess everyone needs a chance.

You should be a spokesman for Durex.... :winking:

Well i am a bit of a "Trojan" on this forum. I won't "Bang" on about it online, but perhaps If you give me your address offline, I will send you a "french letter" instead!

That's a first...player of the year is retained. Excellent news

Lenny won POTY three times, so not exactly a "first"!!!

Delighted at this news though, most improved player last season to the extent that he has become a massive fans' favourite.

So happy at this news, so much for the Millwall deal being 'signed & sealed'...
