Hello guys, just a warning about parking on Saturday.
If any of you park on the area known as Abbey Fields the army land just off Butt Road please be aware that at present you cannot drive up Circular Road West from Butt Road to gain access.
You will have to drive into town and then up Mersea Road.
Details below and a map to help you.
Get onto the Southway and take the third exit off St Botolophs roundabout (you will see the Gala bingo and a large NCP car park on your left) up Mersea Road.
Take the second right into Berechurch Road, and then the second right into Circular Road South, turn right at the next mini roundabout into Circular Road West you will see the parking area on the corner of this road and Circular Road North, parking is free (but a little muddy at times) there is normally stewards there, and probably Police this Saturday, from approx 13.30. Just park with your car facing the road if there is none about when you arrive, there is space there for around 400 cars. You can walk to Layer Road in 10 minutes from there, you can also take a right and walk down to the Dragoon pub on Butt Road in around 15 minutes max.
