There is a discussion on a scottish non league forum I visit ,about legislation which may well force clubs to pay minimum wage to part time players for match time, travelling and training.
http://news.scotsman.com/scotland/Minimum-wage-rules-could-be.5163059.jp

whilst this may not have a massive effect down here, there was a related story about the abolition of the EU working time directive and its impact on part time fireman in this weeks echo.

My thinking is that a full time worker who say, plays for Billericay Town, would only be able to give 13 hours (if he worked a 35 hour week) to his club. Were that to include travelling to and from games, training and matchday that would soon get used up (especially this time of the season. 2 matches a week 3 hours each, and two training sessions of 2 hours would only leave 3 hours for travelling to and from the games)
work 40 hours a week and you are stuffed !

Groyney ? could this impact on the essex senior league ?

My thinking is that if you visit a Scottish non league forum you must have far too much spare time on your hands.
