From Hamilton website:

"Accies have this morning snapped up Scottish striker Matt Paterson, 21, from Southend United on a short term deal till 1st January, in what reflects a 'loan'. Dunfermline-born Matt's family come from East Kilbride, but the player was brought up in England and came through the youth set up at Bournemouth and Southampton, playing for Saints, then Stockport and Southend. He was capped twice by Scotland u19s in the 2008 UEFA u19 Championships. FIFA Clearance came in shortly after 11.30am on Tuesday and he is added to the squad for tonight's game v Partick Thistle in the Ramsdens Cup."

Good luck to him..he did us no harm, he was according to our managers just not good enough.

What does that mean?

Best of luck to him, not his fault he wasn't part of the long term plan. Whoever negotiated the Barnard deal is responsible for this.

Made his debut last night in a 1-0 win - played for 69 mins. Their OS says he had a "quiet game" but showed some nice touches.

Interview with him here: http://www.acciesfc.co.uk/Audio/paterson090811.mp3

Thought it was funny he said that Hamilton did alright in the SPL last year (they finished bottom - 7 points adrift of second bottom)!

Nobody noticed he scored against Ross County last weekend then.

Matt Paterson was beginning to enjoy himself and he fired in a good cross from the left but Grant Gillespie rushed his shot and the ball missed the target. The new striker had been having a decent game and he was delighted to score with a good shot in the 57th minute after a great through ball from Dougie Imrie.
Up front, the pairing of Dougie Imrie and Matt Paterson was a real handful for the County defence. All of these things are indications that this Accies team looks very promising indeed.

Hopefully he'll score bags of goals and we can sell him in January. If he does though, it doesn't mean he would score loads in league 2 as if Scott vernon can score in the prem then div one must be awful
