It seems our new manager has woken up to the fact that most Southend fans are a bunch of whingebags.
Yes we have been through a dire 12 months and not many 'green shoots of recovery' spotted yet but the depressing fact about Roots Hall is that it was rarely a wall of noise in support of the team in the good times under Steve Tilson. I know it's often said on here people are entitled to voice their opinions when things go wrong but I wish some of them were equally vocal in encouraging the team.
This problem is probably not unique to Southend - we are after all a nation of moaners - but I fear Southend fans may be among the worst offenders - let's face it Southend supporters were debating on ShrimperZone the need to boo their own players back in 2007/08 when we finished 6th in League One and again in 2008/09 when we finished 8th in League One. Some people appear to only support Southend as a means of inflicting their depressing view of life on everyone else.
Mods - this probably needs merging with the other thread on this subject but I can't post in it

If it's rarely a wall of noise in support then it it stands to reason that it isn't of dissaproval either.
The mood that comes from the crowd is generated by what happens on the pitch.

The mood that comes from the crowd...

Are you saying therefore that a crowd lacks the ability to lift a team by their support? if so we might as well all pack up and go home now.
