So, on the cat front, this is Maurice. He went to the vets today as he had a couple of lumps out of his face caused by him not being able not scratch his face. An hour after our appointment time we got to see the vet and we ended up with iodine to bathe his face, steroids to stop the scratching and antibiotics to prevent any further infection...........and an £80 bill.

Dog got in the food waste today and I found a load of teabags, some cabbage leaves and strawberry tops in her bed

Sadly the dog is going to have to go back to the RSPCA.

Two months in and behaviour is getting worse. Great around people but has regressed on toilet training to the point we can't trust her on a 5 minute car journey or to be left for ten minutes in the house. I feel pretty bad about it but it is largely the previous 'owners' fault.

The RSPCA haven't been particularly helpful either.

Don’t give up. It can take over a year to sort a dog out that has been abused.

you still got her ?

Had to take poor old Maurice to the Vets this morning as his right rear leg wasn't supporting his weight and every time to tried to jump up on a chair he fell flat on his arse again. He's also been very lethargic and mostly sleeping so we were concerned it would be a one way trip for the old chap. Thankfully the vet decided we would give him a course of anti inflams for two weeks. If that fails to see an improvement then it may still be the final curtain for Maurice the rescue cat.

How is Maurice doing - hope he is ok.

He's definitely better than he was as the anti-inflams have certainly eased his leg and spine. He finishes the dosage on Friday and then we've got a food supplement for him recommended by the vet. Tricky shout as he is healthy apart from the arthritis. All we can do now is see how it all unravels. Thanks for asking by the way.

Good news - something close to my heart as we have homed many rescue cats over the years and also volunteer for Cats Protection.

Glad to hear that he’s doing better.
