Phil Brown in The Guardian

Good article. Ron pretty much confirming he wants Brown in charge next season regardless of what division we'll be in.
I'm not sure how I feel about that. I think we'll all have a clearer idea of where we stand in a few weeks time.

I think RM and PB, being very aware of each others faults, know exactly what they are getting. After the Brown first stint both have probably come to appreciate those first 5 years a little more.

Absolutely agree. I've said before I think the dynamic is very similar to the one between Jobson and Webb which actually, whilst sometimes strained, was largely healthy and certainly in terms of results. Each keeps/kept the other relatively honest which is I guess is underpinned by some level of mutual respect.

So, to break it down, Ron wanted MM gone ages ago, Brown is in for the rebuild in the National League and there is every chance our shiny new stadium will be gracing the non-league.

1. If MM was a goner so early, why didn't he promote Fagan as interim manager until PB arrived? Sure would have saved a few bob.

2. Has Ron not learned that past heroes/favourites have not fared well?

3. It was probably easier to make the right decisions to keep us in league 2 than it will be to orchestrate a quick return from the National League.

We are two thirds down the slippery pole and now someone has put a pile of dog cr*p at the bottom. No one is going to come out of this smelling of roses.

I would have been very happy to see Brown come back in October last year given the disastrous experiment with the work experience people had left us anchored to the foot of the league. Hope it's not too late for a proper manager to turn things around. Since he left it's been like a bad dream

This is my favourite quote in a piece ostensibly about Phil Brown. It's Martin that leaves the mouth agape.

"There’s a huge disparity between what we’re trying to do in terms of the club’s relocation, which I’m confident will be achieved, against where we are on the pitch.”

In short, the Brigadoon that is Fossetts Farm, has nothing to do with exiting the Football League.
He's not short of smoke and mirrors is he?

Just listening to the EFL Podcast and he told them straight up he was offered a three year deal.

The fact he said no probably means he doesn't want anything to do with the National League

do we now assume everything else RM was saying in the video call is incorrect, aswell ?

So Phil looks like he's here for a bit, and Ron has only just started talking to contractors (?!?!).
The penultimate paragraph perfectly sums up the embarrassment we have become.
