Article in today's paper about Phil Brown (Sunday Times pg 5 Sport section).
It mentions that when Phil Brown was manager of Hull City he was out with the players going across the Humber Bridge when Phil spotted a woman about to jump to comit suicide. Apparently he talked her down, but he wont speak about it just saying that he was there and that's what he did - no more.

Is this the man who can lift a dressing room then? Is he really an unsung hero?

The veracity of that story has been questioned and the authorities were unwilling to confirm Brown's version of events.

Rumour has it the woman walked towards the light, sadly for her it was just Phil Brown's bright orange face.

Of course, it could be exactly as he told it. That would be annoying eh?

Good job he didn't sing to her she would have jumped for sure if he had
