On one of the bolton fans sites it states .That David moyes has been in talks with the chairman .And they seem to think it is cut and dryed that he will be there next manager .Gee I hope its true . please .

Phil Brown WILL get the Bolton managers job!!
I know because when the news of Dougie Freedmans departure first came out I went to my SKYbet account
to place a bet and PB wasn't even listed. There were probably 20 people mentioned going down to 33/1 but as PB wasn't one of them I couldn't be bothered to ask for a price so gave up. According to a post on this thread he is now favourite with all bookies!! This means he will get the job - no question.

Stick 50 grand on it then if its 100% certain you cant lose....

Jam_Man will you please read and try to understand the irony of some posts before wanting to jump down someones throat!!

Didnt jump down your throat and irony is not always easy to convey in a post.

Came across as you were certain he was off to me, apologies if you didnt mean that.....

I agree with CyrilSneer. I think if Phil Brown leaves for Bolton - and I sincerely hope he does not - Dave Penney would be a credible successor who has an impressive managerial track record, particularly at Doncaster. It would probably be the least disruptive option at this stage of the season.

What is being said above makes some sense to me.

P.S. Not that I think Tango man is going anywhere ............

If he did go, wonder whether he would try to take any of Bentley, Leonard, etc with him in January

He rates Bentley highly, and considering Bolton's GK's are all aging, I'd say he'd Definitely be back in for him at least.

Could many, if any, of our squad play Championship football right now though? I don't think so. There's future potential in Leonard, and possibly Payne? Ted Smith seems to be making a name for himself, but Ive never seen him play in a competitive game. I don't think we'd have to worry about Brown taking anyone, apart from Bentley.

There is a lot of talk of PB going on here; BUT just 5 games ago he wasn't so fancied!
4 wins is NOT the whole story.

He wouldnt take Bentley, they could not afford him. Bolton have astronomical debts, they have sold most of their best players and replaced them with loans and freebies. Our finances may be equally bad but I dont see Bolton as a particularly attractive proposition, obviously notwithstanding the fact that Brown was a player there. I would imagine they would either promote from within or go for a manager who wont cost them anything in compensation.

Adam bogdan the hungarian international who's in his mid 20s is their number 1

Can you elaborate on that at all?
Simply put; Bolton fans see us 4th in league and 4 wins on the spin; in the short term that is very good BUT if they had been looking for a new manager 5 games ago then they would, perhaps, not be so keen.
I like Phil however he is yet to win anything with us and his overall W, D, L, record is not outstanding YET.

Yes, I fully agree with all of that. When you said 4 wins isn't the full story, I thought you were talking about something going on in the background at Roots Hall...I clearly read too much into peoples posts

Yes. Agree. I think Browny's "stock" (for want of a better noun) is growing but I still think he has to do more before other clubs will come knocking.

Of course, I may be eating my words come Monday evening ................:'(
