If Gabriel Heinze (not sure of the spelling but then who cares!) leaves Man U for Liverpool he will be the first player to make the move from Man U to the Scousers since our very own Phil Chisnall in the early 1960s.

I'll get my anorak.

I was in a Pub in preston with my son a couple of years ago when Liverpool man u was on Sky, the question before the commercial break was "who was the last player to transfer between the two clubs" I am afraid many heads turned when I said Phil Chisnall a little too loudly....

1964 I believe.

The rivalry between the clubs is not a recent thing,In fact it precedes football. Apparently in the 1800's liverpool was booming as all of the goods for that part of the World , including Manchester, had to go through Liverpool Docks and they were screwing the levies. So the Industries of Manchester funded the Manchester ship Canal, bypassing Liverpool and depriving them of a fortune in revenue.
