Why was the Nike FA Cup matchball pink? a) To make people talk about Nike; or b) For the good of the game? Nike's answer: "The exclusive colorway enhances visibility and incorporates graphics to generate maximum visual contrast in-flight." :hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:

It has been pink for all FA Cup games this season.

Don't understand the explanation about it being pink . Is it just more North American wind perhaps? And it should be "colourway", shouldn't it?

Maybe somebody high up in the FA is going to "come out" with something soon to explain this :winking:

Some say that the male side of our species is becoming more feminine and the women more masculine. Perhaps a baby blue football is being used in women's football too? :omg:

Well it was rumoured that Michael Rickett's used to wear a sports bra to support his man boobs :stunned:

Whatever you say, when the lights went out, we were keeping warm with pink match balls whilst Millwall were using white balls. It was very obvious at that point that the pink ball was far easier to see.

The only thing I found funny was that it clashed with the Millwall kit.

It may sound strange but having played cricket with the traditional red ball plus white, orange and pink ones in poor light conditions, the pink and orange ones certainly stand out better than white.

Having said that it shouldn't really have any bearing with the quality of modern floodlights. :winking:

Concur with the above, an orange hockey ball is much easier to see on a green pitch: likewise a yellow ball even better when on a blue pitch.

Don't see why footballs need to be any colour for visibility reasons. If you can't see a sphere 12 inches across at any kind of distance you shouldn't be out there.

Accrington must have the worst floodlights I have ever seen at a league ground. You get better floodlights at council run 5 aside pitches.

Anyway, I thought the colour was Watermelon.

Pink is a colour used in the 5th test cricket ashes game in Sydney , it marks the anti cancer campaign started by the great Aussie fast bowler whose wife ,who was english died of cancer and his organisation that fights to find a cure for breast cancer.
