Planning for Roots Hall.

I believe it was scheduled for the end of Feb and has been delayed until April.

Tbh I'm so bored of the long and sorry saga that is Sufc relocation.

It's taken so long that essentially the club will have gone from a top league 1 side to non league trap door and still being driven into the ground by a sheister chairman

We were 18th in L2 when Ron took over and about to go bust with £4m of debt. Until our last promotion we had never spent more than 3 seasons in L1 in our history. All the longterm league tables have us as top of L2/bottom of L1. Right now we are only 20 places below our average historical position.

If Football was honest it would admit that moving grounds out of the town is a long term disaster. From Col U to Bolton they are all mistakes

So what if you have a shiny new stadium, it would be better if it’s the heart beat of the town.....with two mainlines pulling in within short walking distance it would breath life into the High Street and solve the road problems around FF.

For away fans it would be at least an all dayer if not a weekender So the Hotel option would be very much back on and a great place for a business hub/conference/training venue.....Mono rail Direct to the airport?

But your right no one in the local council has the vision or the will to make our town a must visit place for the millions of London tourists less than an hour away.
The council would never consider this, it makes far, far too much sense.

Exactly because I have learnt that there is far more money to be made by creating problems than solving them. Every study, consultation, report legal arguments and endless committee meetings are all big earners for some

Even the land crisis in the town of Southend would be greatly helped.... The whole of FF would see a large chunk of the government targets hit for house building.

yet now...20 places below our average, and almost £18m of debt and still subject to court cases for unpaid tax !

What a crock

We are the worst position we have ever been in our history.

Worst league position....... Ever
Most debt....... Ever
Don't own anything and rent our own stadium
No saleable assets. They all got sold!!
The club is in a far worse state than we Ron took it on.

This often gets said and it’s wrong. The club owned nothing when Ron took over, RH and the training ground were owned by the banks, who were about to foreclose. Agreed it’s not a lot better than it was then, but other than league position it’s certainly not worse. And id imagine 90% of football clubs are in more debt than they’ve ever been one way or another.

Far worse. We never had embargos previously. We never got dragged through the high court or chased constantly by HRMC, we never failed to pay players and started seasons with just a few players and no manager.

Ron Martin is one of the worst chairman in the football league.

He has saddled the club with debt that is tied to his companies, meaning the only way to free us from him is for someone to pay 15 million to him for a asset less league 2 struggler.

That is never going to happen.

Ron was only ever in this for the £££s from construction and has chased this relentlessly to the detriment of Roots Hall and also the playing side.

Our only hope is planning permission on a 3 sided stadium embedded in a housing estate.

Taken to the brink by a property developing chairman who hasn't actually developed a property in years.

Yes we did. In the mid 1980s Bobby Moore couldnt sign players due to an embargo.

Literally everything you said could describe Vic Jobson or the butcher Anton Johnson.

Don't forget Anton Johnson also stole the supporters' Christmas Club money.

Ron Martin is no saint but we could also have had far worse. Look at what the Bury owner did to them and I don’t think you’ll find an Orient fan who has a good word to say about their Italian owners. He’s nowhere near the best but he is also nowhere near the worst.

Ask Oldham fans who haven't had a manger finish an entire season since 2014.

I also wouldn't comment too much on a mans profession when you quite clearly have no idea what he actually he does.

Not forgetting the Oystons at Blackpool.

The Spam may be challenging for Europe but their owners have not won many fans to think of them as more than asset strippers and porn peddlars.
Manure have rode high for a long time but the Glaziers have robbed the club of, guessing, billions of pounds in servicing an extortionate debt that is straight out of loan sharking modus operandi.

The same Vic jobson who had us playing for 6 seasons on the championship.

Any idea how the recent elections will affect voting? I believe conservatives won most seats yesterday and after their theatrics previously with their unbelievable excuses are they likely to agree the next stage of us building?
