About 40 50 port vale fans after today game running riot any1 see what happened in main car park!! Animals they were

When we left the gates we locked and there were a few 'fans' winding the up, most of them under 18.

Don't know how the gates were opened though.

didn't see what happened but two squad cars went passed me blues n twos going and as I passed the side road near the railway one of the cars had it sealed off .So can only think something happened down the side road of saint marys church and pritterwell station .

They all smashed through the gate by literally grabbing the bars and rocking it backwards and forwards until it burst open and then went running into the car park. Started swinging at our fans and a bit of a brawl broke out in the middle before a couple of coppers and stewards tried and failed to sort it out. As we were driving home there were numerous police cars blue lighting it past us so think it may have continued after we'd got out. There was a bald guy who seemed to be the ringleader but they were all a bunch a scum bags. Let themselves down massively and given their club a really bad name by being ********s. Should be ashamed of themselves. I desperately hope we do the double over them now. Knowing we've taken another 3 points off the cheating buggers would make me a happy man.

Lots of Polce at the blue boar junction, traffic stopped and police escorted 30 or so Vale fans to the station.
Didn't see any reason, but the police don't do that for every game...

After Luton last season what the hell are the Police up to apart from standing around outside the Blue Boar ?

All down on a stag do apparently, after the trouble they got marched into the town centre. You could see a group of lads on their own on the left side of the away end near the east, must of been them. Bound to me more trouble later.

Just as I walked past the gates a girl slapped another girl through the gates (both Port Vale fans) which was odd but you could feel the tension they were like animals the other side of that gate, then I walked a little further and 2 Port Vale fans (male) who were somehow on our side shouted out to a group of Southend fans wait till that gate opens then within seconds the gate opened and all hell broke loose!

They came in after the start of the game, defo not there at the start. When my son went to get a drink he heard two stewards saying a group of Vale fans had turned up late and were causing trouble on the car park before the game.

I had to collect a ticket from the collection bit so went through the back of the away area and some security were saying that a Vale fan had been done over by some Southend fans then I noticed a lot of police on the way out. what is going on these days? there just seems to be more and more of it

before game i saw a send man throw a punch at a PV fan.
Have not a clue why, maybe he was attacked 1st.

Being sensible you don't retaliate but what do you do if someone attacked you , what do you do ?

got to admit I would stick up for myself and retaliate

Agree, I absolutely detest violence over a game of football it is the most pathetic and embarrassing thing you can do. However, I was with the other half on Saturday and had someone lamped me what do you do? You're right, you defend yourself and your loved ones. Retaliation isn't right and will make things worse but it's hard to remain calm if you get punched for no reason. Sad situation. I got smacked at the station last season after the Luton game but was just with one mate and there was about 20 of them, so was no point, just had to walk away. It's sad because these sorts of thing will never stop happening

I don't advocate football violence but I hope the Port Vale fans responsible were made to regret their actions.

Over 6000 attend
Under 1% act like apes
Jail 12 months
Ban them forever from games.

I was told earlier in the day that there had been a stag party of Vale fans 'making a weekend of it', as quite a few of us do for Fleetwood, Morecambe and Blackpool, etc. in town on Friday night and that they'd given the door staff at some of the clubs a bit of a 'busy' night, one might say. If that had been passed on to the police that might explain why so many rapid response cars with four up were on hand to assist pretty quickly, certainly quite a few flew down West Road, presumably held in reserve at Westcliff nick.

Must say that I didn't really expect that from Vale, as far as I can recall there's never really been any 'history' between us.

I thought the Westcliff police station closed years ago?

Port Vale only brought 280 fans.
Out of that it looked like about 25 were in the Stag party group, how hard can it be to Police 25 people. They stood out pretty clearly and I would imagine CCTV in the ground was keeping an eye on them. So how did they actually manage to break through a gate and cause trouble in the car park? Where were the couple of Police officers that normally in the ground they could probably have stopped this happening?

No wonder 100+ Luton fans ran around outside the ground causing trouble last season if we cant even control the 25 Port Vale fans that were looking for trouble. Mind you the Luton trouble was not even recognised by the Southend Police, it all passed off peacefully according to them!
