... Contract expires late October (Vodafone) and I'm thinking of moving to THREE. The coverage guide on the THREE website suggests it's ok for most of the Southend Area (but it would say that!!). The tariff I'm looking at is 200mins, 5000 txts and 500mb data for £6.90 per month (less when factoring in quidco).

So, for those that live in the SS postcode are any of you on THREE and what are your experiences ?

Cheers,
John

3 is fine in ss postcodes but I am all over the country most weekends with the band and it's a bit hit and miss to be honest.

We live in Leigh and my partner used to be on 3.

The coverage was fine but the customer service was so bad she left at the earliest opportunity. She switched to Orange (I have been with them for years). They do (or certainly used to do) a tariff match for the other suppliers. I've not had many issues with them over the years so you may want to consider them.

I switched to Three a few months back because of their unlimited internet, coverage around the Southend area is very good!

Thanks for the comments so far. I bought a 3 PAYG sim to check the differences prior to jumping into a contract. Have to say that Internet/Data is streets ahead of what Vodafone currently gives me.

Daughter is on Orange and I'm going to 'borrow' her sim later to try it out.

I've not tried 3 as I've been on orange for years now and never had any problems with coverage, either in the SS postcode or anywhere else for that matter and 9 out of 10 weekends I'm all over East Anglia and beyond. Also, Orange/T Mobile will be the first to offer 4g EE on the LTE network in the Southend area in the new year. Might be something worth considering.
