Saturday's opponents need little introduction as we have battled with them so many times in the past. They currently sit in second place in the table so will be worthy opponents for our new found confidence. Can we reproduce our form of last week? I really do hope so, but I'd rather go into this match after recording our first win of the season than I would if we were still winless. Normal deal all, pre match stuff on here and the game will be steamed live on iFollow for those brave enough to persevere with it (me, me).

This is one game I would of gone to, would of guaranteed us a 8,000 crowd surely, if we can get a draw out of this it’ll be a massive result.

I am with Clarke on this, same team, Elvis on bench.
Who else might make the 7th bench player?

Has Mr Fagan got a promising youngster he wants to push up the order?

Benton could do a job in the starting 11, let alone the bench.

Agreed .Same team as last week.
Elvis has to earn his way back into the starting 11.Hobson did a good job there in Saturday and should not be dropped.

Just invited my Cambridge supporting mate (and his Catalan partner) to watch this one here in SC.Insisted we have home ie BBC Essex commentary on.Could be a deal breaker I suppose. :Winking:

Need to keep our new-found tenacious and direct style of play. If it's not broken, don't fix it! We need to turn Roots Hall into a difficult place to play against us now

Southend utd v Cambridge...21.11.2020..!!!
Bloody hell...
Im still trying to get over .....21.04.1972....when they beat us at Roots Hall....it was my birthday and we all thought we were going up for the first time that night..
Was Dion Dublin leading their attack that night? With John Beck as manager? And they roughed up our pitch to spoil our beautiful football? Shocking!

The last thing we need right now is another kid pushed into our first team.. that's a very valuable registration used up (not that there's any free anyway..)

I may well be wrong but isn't there some sort of exemption from embargo registration related to youth players who are part of academy set up?
I am only suggesting it as a "right of passage" type bench and not expecting player to be used unless we get to 88 minutes and are 3 goals clear.
Being part of first team matchday squad is a big moment in a fledgling career.

Not 100% sure how it works but you’re right. I think if you aren’t on a professional contract you are allowed to play without using up a squad place. Hence why Oli/Kenny Coker have been able to play and the other youths were on the bench at Col U
