The classic movie Duck Soup has even been selected by Library of Congress to be preserved in the national film register for its cultural, historical, or aesthetically significance

Even though it was released during the depression it was still the 6th highest grossing film of 1933. Not 6th hight comedy but 6th highest grossing movie of 1933.

preposterous political disregard, buffoonery, and cynicism at a time of economic and political crisis was just what was needed during the depression and this movie had it in abundance.

I missed this and my vote wouldn't have mattered but Ducksoup would have got it just for the classic line,

'Quick, duck behind the sofa'

'Theres no duck behind this sofa'

Quality humour.
