The Premier League, PFA and the EFL say some "difficult decisions" will need to be taken in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic.

Dover Athletic chairman admits they have run out of money. Their fans are having a collection to try and raise funds. Many more clubs to find themselves in this predicament I fear.

Inevitably, I think, the Prem and EFL will have to cancel the rest of the season's fixtures rather than go ahead with the present plan to play games behind closed doors.I'm just suprised it's taken them so long, to reach what IMO, is an inevitable decision.

Those of us who live in the real world ,rather than in football's bubble, have already, albeit reluctantly, accepted this.

Just cancel the season, most clubs haven’t got the funds to continue anyway and those that do may lose more money or get into more debt, all fans of league one and below need to join forces and raise money for all clubs either by donations or by some other means, if we don’t start the new season in august then its more money raised eh, people need to dig deep to save a fair few clubs or we could even see one of the leagues completely go in these hard times.

Imo, all the European club / country competitions need to be postponed for a longer period of time than any of the national leagues. Can't risk sending players all around Europe until such time as every country has a clean bill of health (which likely to differ greatly from country to country).

Eventually, the realisation will hit even the football authorities that this is a huge issue and surely everything will be written off and we will hopefully start again next year. Won't it?

The arrogance of the PL is truly mind blowing. Whilst other authorities have written off their season in countries where the pandemic has less impact, the PL is determined to play games behind closed doors. Driven purely by monetary concerns, surely when the rest of us are instructed to keep social distancing paramount, how can this be possible in a game of football? Surely the PFA should be looking out for their members welfare? I know physical contact is a rare thing in the PL, but surely even here there must be an occasional tackle. Then there's the possible spread into the wider population. There will be in attendance, officials, media, health, ground staff etc. Then there's the encouragement to the population for a kick about down the park, or the beach; "well if the pro boys can do it.....".
Imo it is just wrong. All driven by money. Somehow football has become above anything else in society, and is the tail wagging the dog, with this pathetic government.
Rant over.
