So there’s a protest on Saturday being held at Roots Hall, after the Morecambe game, outside the club shop.

Thoughts?

Would be amazed if more than 40 people show up.

With the announcement of fans not being able to return any time soon this is pretty pointless.

Better off everyone who was going to go signs up for the Shrimpers Trust, that’ll help towards saving our club.

Ron Isn’t going anywhere soon until he gets his FF money and a little protest won’t change that!

Inaccurate reporting. A minority of clowns are going to protest. Not Southend fans in general. And not that we don’t realise the trouble we’re in.

At least they want to let the scum owner they wont follow him blindly and believe the same crap. Sadly some on here dont learn. Like a beaten partner going back and back again.

There was protests towards Ron over 10 years ago, they worked didn’t they!

FRUSTRATED Southend United supporters are set to protest against the running of the club this weekend.

I don't remember protests when we got to Wembley for the JPT final then sacked Sturrock. I don't remember protests when we got promoted into League 1 against Wycombe.

We seem to have fair weather fans who protest against the owner when times are tough, but completely forget that when the good times are occurring.

Blackpool fans voted with their feet against the Oystons and did not attend matches until they had gone. In that time they got relegated to League 2 and then promoted back to League1.

Ron was very upset by those! Better to try than do nothing at all.
I think all the protests will do is help RM make a decision he dosent want to make and that is too let the club fold,he would still get his windfall from the houses etc . Careful what you wish for Westy .

Ryan Reynolds is trying to buy Wrexham :Hilarious::ROFL:

Are Wrexham waiting on one council to agree to 450 houses on their current site. A new stadium on another site that needs major local traffic alterations. They also have to agree 800 houses on another part of the new site as a separate part of the deal. Do Wrexham then have to get permission for a new and upgraded academy on land under a different council. Do they also have to get permission for an overflow car park on council number 2's land in order to help out number 1. Do Wrexham have to deal with 2 councils who traditionally won't cooperate with each other which is why the towns relief road has never been built in the first place despite 25 years in the planning. Has Wrexham town council always been able to sneer at its own football club safe in the knowledge that rather than get voted out the fans will always blame the chairman no matter who it is....

By all means go and protest but remember a few things. The Rubins already had plans to build a new West Stand when I went to my first game in 1974.

Ron has promised to not call in £20m of debt if FF goes through and clearly has had enough, which is why he tried to sell last year......One of the usual Ron hating suspects called for demonstrations at his house.....If i was Ron and that happened I would lock the RH gates and call in that debt.....Forget covenants the council will give up up very inch of FF to housing when it suites them. Some clubs will go bust due to government restrictions for professional football but they will rise again......We won't because there will be no land available.

As I found out the hard way with spiteful people full of hate controlling my union....Demonstrating and striking can be the worse thing you ever do, if you don't do it right and have an end goal. So be honest with yourself. You wanted promotion, you wanted better players on longer contracts....You wanted mangers and their staff sacked, you wanted players paid off and replaced....You wanted Ron to spend the money....We were all partners in the crime so don't try and get out of it with "Please miss it was Ron that made me do it".....If anything it was us that made Ron do it.

If you can be honest with yourself, then look at the people who shout the loudest about Ron.....You know the ones who don't go to games but have a dodgy iFollow connection for £60 per year..... Whilst you pump your hard earn't money into the club. Their own personal crusade of hate, does not have the fans interest at hart....Not mine, not yours

I was at Aveley last night for the Grays game. I could walk round and do as i like and spend money....If you really want to save your club you should protest about the ridiculous over reaction, whilst others are enjoying a marvellous shooting season. Hundreds of people on a plane is fine but not in a football stand. That is the real reason we are where we are. That is the reason why no L1 or L2 clubs will be able to pay their players.... The 400k to the tax man will be insignificant by next March. All EFL fans need to unite. Now is not the time for individual and personal gripes.

So if i understand a small number of fans plan a protest at Ron this Saturday. What is the aim to get him t sell? To walk away?

Could end in massive failure, if he was to take back his loans and walk away wouldnt the club go under? If he was to look to sell he would need to find someone to pass the fit and proper tests set by the EFL who also have to prove they have enough money to pay back Ron and run the club, that seems a stretch too me personally given we are in league 2. Let’s assume he can find someone we could end up in a macclesfield, Bolton or Bury situation another win for er... no one.

If he ignores them, as likely, then he will carry on, so again the protest / protesters don't get want they want but at least the first two scenarios don't happen. Can anyone see Ron selling while the club have FF on the go with the council.

All i see is further damage to the club and maybe the team with the unsettling actions, it will affect them.

I know Ron isnt perfect, but sometimes it is better the devil you know situation.

Every fan should be backing the team, like we have always done thorough thick and thin, not possibly making this very young squads jobs harder than they already are.

What you think is totally wrong. Doing nothing has let Ron decimate everything about Southend United has helping to kill the club.

For those who say be careful what you wish for = you got what I told you 12 years ago would happen. You've indirectly helped Ron get away with it.

What could we have done 12 months ago???

No-one was there to buy the club (not for the amount Ron would need anyway) and if he hasn't got the money, how can he pay up?

Therefore what is the aim of this protest and how well it help?
