PS3 or XBOX 360

ps3 all the way for me its a better all round console and has that blue ray player. Its also cheaper in the long run as you dont have to pay for the online gaming ( like you do on the xbox with xbox live)

£30 per year is hardly worth moaning about... You get what you pay for, and i'd rather have a steady provider for £30 with 5 years of experience than a brand new product prone to bugs.

360 and a wii, Ps3 hasn't kicked off as well as the other two. That why they cut the hard drive from 60 to 40gig so people would buy it because its cheaper.

aside from the gaming, If your interested in watching HD movies on it as well its worth noting that Blu-Ray (Sony) looks set to win the format war, leaving the 360's HD-DVD capabilities looking all a bit Betamax.

Indeed they do. Interesting point to make I stated that Blu-ray was gonna win the format war and got gunned down at the time. How a few months make a difference!!!

Once again, I must call upon the collective brain of ShrimperZone. I've finally finished my book and the second installment of what I can only loosely term an advance is on its way to my bank account. Now, I could do a lot of thing swith this. I could pay off my credit card, I could go on holiday, I could invest in an arms dealer. However, I don't want to do that.

I want to replace my rickety old Playstation 2. Unfortunately, I haven't read a computer magazine since they stopped making Your Sinclair and I haven't got a clue which one to get. I'm tempted to stick with Sony as they've always done me well, but is there anything I should know? What's the difference between a 40GB and a 80GB? Do I keep songs on these things nowadays? When's GTA4 coming out? Will I ever get a life?

Ta.

80Gb-40GB=40GB...So theres your answer. Mathematics, an amazing tool!!

If we're going down the slagging of route, then the Xbox is very prone to breaking down. It's built to last 3 years.

They cost £250 to buy, £30x3=£90, so thats £340 for the console and online gaming for its 3 year life. £340/3=£113.

The ps3 is built to last about 5/6 years + I think. It costs £289 to start with, free online. So after 5/6 years thats £289/5=£59 a year, with more gaming years.

This is all based on averages off the top of my head I must admit, but I think they are reasonably accurate and tell a good story on which is the best investment.
