Quarter Final Review and Semi Final Draw

BLUEBLOOD

Moderator of Moderators
The Quarters panned out like this .....

(What's the Story (Morning Glory) 31 Revolver 21 (60%)
The Stone Roses 32 London Calling 19 (63%)
Thriller 32 Nevermind 34 (52%)
Dark Side of the Moon 24 Doolittle 28 (54%)

4 Battles .. 2 close, 2 less so ... and IMO, 3 wrong outcomes (including one complete travesty) ... i think DSOTM may of lost due to a lack of campaigning by Cricko .. i shall be having words next time i see him !!!

But hey ho, its gone now and we move on .. 4 remain with one Semi tomorrow and one Friday, both should be starting around 7:30 as i'm back in work :'(

Thursday 12th March

Nevermind vs (What's the Story) Morning Glory (bollocks !!!!)

Friday 13th March

Doolittle vs The Stone Roses

Thanks to all those who voted for Revolver throughout the Battle of the Albums

Poor old Revolver. Had a dip in form at just the wrong moment. Shocked and almost beaten by some Euro-Pop and then taken out completely by some imitation Beatle tribute act. If revolver was a football team it'd be Phil Scolari's Chelsea at the minute.

Why not just say whoever wins on Thursday wins the competition? Let's face it really, the other two on Friday are **** and not a patch on Nevermind or What's The Story.

Total gonads!! By Kurt Cobains own admission they ripped off the Pixies' louder moments & Oasis are a Beatles rip off, even if better!! That said, the only band I'm not a huge fan of is The Stone Roses, who are a reasonable band that I didn't get into in a big way!!

Sounds like you are starting to panic now the Pixie bubble is about to burst!!!

Kurt Cobain became a rock star by offering an alternative to the reigning rock stardom formula. Nirvana's breakthrough hit song 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' flouts convention for radio play as the song title has no direct relationship to the song lyrics. Fortunately the record buying public had finally tired of the slick synthetic music that dominated the eighties and were ready for some real music again. Nirvana were there at the right time.

Good bit of copy and pasting there.
