R.I.P. Robert Hutchings-Spiller

So so sad. A real gent in the local game. My thoughts go to all his family and friends. RIP Hutch

Not someone I knew but have seen a lot of posts about how involved he was with football away from Roots Hall. RIP fellow Shrimper.

That's why I love this club and it's fans, I don't know the guy but he was one of us, a Shrimper. RIP Robert, let us know what the season card prices are in the Blues in the Sky Stand.

Played against Hutch's side many many times, such sad news! RIP

Rip Rob , as stated heavily involved in the grass roots game and managed some of the teams I’ve played against , always gracious in defeat and had a little black book of local players and could pull in players at the drop of a hat, I think that shows the level of respect he had amongst his peers .

an all round great guy and will be missed

there is a go fund me page that is doing the rounds and is unsurprising racking up a lot of support and money for his funeral and family .

Awful news, used to to Rob a lot in Leigh-on-sea area watching games, RIP big man.

Robert Hutchins -Spiller
Adds to another growing list of former shrimpers.
He never got to see us embark on our non league adventure
.
Condolences to his family and friends
