Just come across this...

Absolutely tore our poor young lads apart with mainly his acceleration, pace and a bit of skill...

He really is an exciting talent and so glad he is English, he will be the next Brit to sign for Real Madrid. Was that Dan Bentley in goal?

Think I am right in saying that Kenny Dalglish paid the entry fee for all Southend fans that evening.
I think he paid for some. He saw a group outside the ground and got them some tickets. We paid to get in, mind you it was only a few pounds to get in. About 350 Southend fans on the Kop mixed in with the Liverpool fans.

anyone got the line ups from this game? be interesting to see who has and hasn't made it

Southend United: Daniel Bentley, Anthony Furlonge, Teddy Nesbitt, James Stevens, Louis Baucutt, Dominic Iorfa (Michael Hyland 65), Hicham Abdellah (Lyle Della-Verde 49), Alex Woodyard, Duane Ofori-Acheampong, George Smith, Julian Okai (Ryan Auger 77).

Substitutes not used: Luke Chambers, Michael Hassini.

Dominic Iorfa is now at Wolves and Lyle Della-Verde is at Fulham.

Sterling is demanding double his salary to remain at Liverpool !The poor sods weekly is only 70k and he wants 130k !

Funny old game !

What happened to Furlonge wasn't he supposed to be quite highly rated and Orem clubs looking at him?

Out of interest, what should he be looking for? And since you have all of the detailed facts, could you let us have the proof of these "demands", and let us know how they compare to the other highest earners at both his club and competing ones in world football?

I rememebr being handed a free ticket out side the pub over the road. It was a really good day and the suprise on the Liverpool faces when the traveling fans starting to sing. was a very good atmos in side the kop.

That new Premier League rights deal will have Sterling's agent asking for another £30k a week...

Papers over here are massively pro-Liverpool and there were some very strong headlines this morning about Sterling implying that he is a money-grabbing so and so. Having poached him from QPR a few years ago it is a bit rich of anyone at Liverpool to take any moral high-ground over this.

Man utd or city or chelsea will say see ya contract out then come to us...We will pay you 200k a week...sterling will ask Liverpool to match it...Liverpool can't pay that...sterling will move

I'd imagine any reluctance to sign a new contract on Sterling's part is in relation partly down to the unlikelihood that Liverpool will get top four this year, and the situation with Gareth Bale in Madrid. The rumours that Bale might entertain a move away seem to grow stronger with each passing game...
