Our recent League record at Oldham is good or, rather, very good. This century we are unbeaten in 8 League visits, winning 4 and drawing 4. Going back further, our overall record, home and away is 17 wins, 10 draws and 12 defeats, the most recent of those wins coming at Roots Hall back in August thanks to a Dan Mooney goal.

Man in charge is currently scheduled to be Aaron Jackson from Liverpool, in his fourth season as a National League referee and taking charge of his fourth Southend match.

The first one was our away match at Borehamwood - a 1-0 defeat during which he, not unreasonably, sent off Ogogo in addition to 4 yellows (one to Ferguson, one to Ogogo and two to them). Next came the creditable 2-2 draw at Chesterfield last season thanks to a pen and an own goal. A strong referee played his part and all three cautions, unusually, went to the home side. For his third match, he took charge of the last match of the season at home to Torquay sending off, again not unreasonably, Demetriou and cautioning Kensdale in a 1-1 draw.

This will be his 12th National League match of the season, his 11 games thus far producing 37 yellows and 3 reds. It will be his first Oldham match. In addition to his National League matches he officiates in plenty of PL2 (development league) matches.

Assistants are Michael D’Aguilar from Stafford, a former Football League Assistant for a number of seasons and Daniel Robinson from Birmingham. John Mulligan from Carlisle stands by as Fourth Official.
