Remaining Fixtures

Turning round our current form isn't going t be simple! Just to recap;
P14 W0 D5 L9 10-29 4 Pts -19 GD. So 4 points out of 42.

Our longest ever run without a win I believe.
Our longest run without a home win was 1948/9, nine games...

Sorry to spoil your day!

Four games left now then

Walsall

Sounds familiar

“I said I wanted heart, desire and passion and ability and we got nothing. We gave two poor goals away. Accrington wanted it more than us.

Burton

Their last 10 away games since thay lost at Luton the Saturday before Christmas

Won 4 Drawn 5 Lost 1 ( at Charlton)

Rochdale

Won 3 and drawn 2 of their last 7 losing to Sunderland and Portsmouth.

Sunderland

Lost 3 all season.

Our home record against them is played 6 -Won 1 lost 5. Our only win was in 2006/7 when they finished as champions of the Championship and we got relegated!

Not looking good

4 defeats and we set a new club record for defeats in a season at 27.

No more home wins and we set a new record for least home wins in season at 6 I think - (and one of them was only because of the short sighted linesman).

We've now failed to score in 4 successive home games - can we really trouble Burton or Sunderland...………..

Oh well ,,, bye bye League 1
Hunting around for any scraps of consolation; Correction 1 - we have beaten Sunderland twice at home, I believe we won 2-0 in 1991/92.

Hunting around for any scraps of consolation; Correction 2 - we have got a massive 5 points out of 42, not 4. That extra point could make all the difference (not)!

Yes, my mistake. Exacerbated by my footballing gloom! (Oh and Fort William lost 0-7, East Thurrock lost too).

If.. and that’s a big if but IF we have the same sort of performance we got away at Fleetwood last weekend away at Walsall and Rochdale then I’d fancy us to get some points. We seem to play better away, have done all season. Maybe there is less pressure or whatever but I’m more confident of getting some points from the final two away games than I am from the final two home games where we won’t get a shot on target let alone any points I fear.

Looks like Burton have nothing to play for, not sure if that adds or takes away pressure.

Thought they (Burton) looked a decent passing side when we beat them away (seems like an eon ago!), but maybe they won’t be interested, so our next 3 are winnable, but I thought that about our last 3 home games.

Sorry to spoil your day!

In 1983/84 we went 17 winless league games after beating Lincoln 2-0 on 27th December and finally winning again on April 16 beating Bradford City 2-1. We finished 22nd with 44 points.

We did win 2 Associate Members cup ties in Feb and March though against Reading 5-0 and Col U.

Another record that could go this season.

I’ve found another 4 goalless home games in 84/85 - part of a run of 7 games where we failed to score in 8 games - the exception being a 4-1 win at Plymouth.

Mantom, Dieng, ****ely...etc. are totally hopeless.....we will struggle to have another shot on goal.....we are down, no momentum and actually getting worse if that is possible!

We didn’t win any of our last 9 home league games in 2012/13.

Well the Sunderland game will be like an away game

Yep 48/49 9 without a win ( 5 draws) and also 5 on trot without a goal ( 3 0-0s). Failed to score in 11 home games.

Bradford down so 3 from 6 with Bristol Rovers, Wycombe and Shrewsbury probably needing just a point for safety. Accrington Scunny and Walsall look to be in biggest trouble.

A good set of results and one point and GD could do it for us.
Last day of the season looks very interesting now!

23rd April
Doncaster v Accrington
Luton v Wimbledon

27th April
Accrington v Plymouth
Wimbledon v Wycombe

Fleetwood v Bristol Rovers
Rochdale v Southend
Scunthorpe v Bradford City
Walsall v Peterborough

28th April
Coventry v Shrewsbury

4th May
Bradford v Wimbledon
Bristol Rovers v Barnsley
Charlton v Rochdale
Shrewsbury v Walsall
Plymouth v Scunthorpe

Southend v Sunderland
Portsmouth v Accrington
Wycombe v Fleetwood

Win at Rochdale and we're safe. Unless Wombles turn over Luton away tomorrow, then it gets a bit more complicated.

Christ! Sunderland v Portsmouth is some fixture for next Saturday and outside those two it could be very important for us. Got to hope that Pompey will get something from it, consequently condemning Sunderland to the play-offs and meaning their visit to Southend will be the least important thing on their minds.

Bloody hope Ron doesnt put free coaches on. We will end up with a large following and a **** result. 5 of us going by car, hoping that we get a good 500-600 up there
