To be fair, Sturrock wasted a lot of money on players he didn't/wouldn't use.

We had so much money tied up with the likes of Martin, Harris, Eastwood, Benyon, Baldwin, Flood, Spicer, J Johnson etc

Doubt he would be looking to drop into League 2 again to be honest, although he came pretty close to it this season with Stevenage.

As for Howe, knows where the goal is but what could he offer us that someone like Eastwood and Harris can't already? We need someone with pace and a bit of flair, not another guy who's just going to be jogging along the opposition back four watching balls flying over his head.

30 goals in last 2 seasons at this level is a good record. Shame about the 25 yellow cards and 2 reds in the same period!

Torquay want to trim down their squad, so possibly offered him a lower wage. If he is in our budget then I reckon he could do a good job here. Although our front line isn't a top priority if we can keep Tomlin.

What he said. Other areas need strengthening before adding new forwards. Scoring goals wasn't our problem, it was letting them in, I'd like to see us linked with some defenders.
