Reserves:  Shrimpers Get Kick Up The R's

Dspite the scoreline, a much improved display from the team.

Trialists Craig Holloway and Jermiele Johnson furthered their claims with assured performances.  Tes looked lively and up for it throughout, creating as well as troubling the Rangers defence.  Jenks, after a sluggish first half, was much more efective in the second.  Steven Clark, once he was told where left and right was, put in the sort of effort and display we know he can do.

The only goal came early in the second half when a Rangers volley from just inside the box was superbly parried by Holloway, only to the feet of an onrushing R's forward who made no mistake.

Special celebrity guest ref for the day Dermot Gallagher showed the class gap between Premiership and Nationwide officials.  Absolutey none at all.  Letting fouls go, pulling up for shoulder-to-shoulder stuff, ignoring offsides then making his own up - at least we now know the Premiership sides get c.rap refs too.

Gary Hill was once again in the directors box.  I'd say it's pretty obvious he was looking at the like of Clarky and Jenks, judging by he notes he was making when each done something half decent.  So was Dreeeeeewe, resplendent in some nasty T-Mark Italy shirt.  One wag suggested it was the nearest he'd ever get to Italy.

Played 13, won 0. drawn 1, lost 12, position 14th out of 14th.  At least today belied those sorry stats.

According to TLG (but what do they know), today's opponents were supposed to be Aldershot Town.
Does anyone know when(if) this game is going to be played?.
