Retained List Announced.

Supposedly the retained list for us is going to be dropping later today.

Quite simple really, who do you think stays and who do you think goes?

I think we could be in for a surprise or two...

(Mods, perhaps when it also gets officially released on the OS, update this thread title and post it in here, make sure it all gets kept in one thread)

I don't think decisions are finalised/agreed between all interested parties yet.

I thought the deadline for informing the authorities was 23.59 on Friday? As usual, we are among the last to be putting ours out.

Because our finances are all over the place, so we never know how much is available to offer contracts etc ?

I might be wrong but I think we only have to express an intention to offer a contract by the Friday deadline.

So it shouldn't affect the announcement of the list.

That's the deadline to let the EFL know so to be fair they don't have to announce it by then. But, as mentioned still poor and need to get out of this "late" culture.

If its 'offered' then of course its do'able. But it wont mean they are the players we will retain until deals are accepted/agreed.

Oh yeah, I understand that. And I wouldn't want our overworked media team to be working over the weekend when they could just put the announcement out on Monday morning.

But yes, it does seem like we're always among the last and I think that's a culture that needs to change.

Don't forget, PB hasn't worked with them for very long, He needs to think very carefully about where he goes with players from here, his (and the team's future) may very well depend on the decisions he makes over the coming few weeks.
