Hope the mods will allow this.

Not sure if you all have seen, but announced by the Shrimpers Trust today is that they have teamed up with Chablais Sport GB to produce a range of Southend United retro shirts.

First up re availability is the ever-popular 'custard splat' shirt from '96-'98. As part of the Trust, SUEPA has been working on this too and we've lined up a 'SUEPA model' to pose in the splat shortly, our 'Twiggy no. 1' is just awaiting delivery of the shirt and then pics will be posted up. However, you don't have to wait until then as the shirt is available now, a mock up and link re how to get the shirt is here:

At £35 we think it is a good price and the Trust (and so ultimately our club) benefit from every sale.

They'll be more retro shirts (all we hope with SUEPA models on the cat walk) on offer soon, they'll be a vote on which one to launch next in a week or so - keep following the Shrimpers Trust and SUEPA on Facebook/Twitter for news.

And yes this was all discussed with the club before launch!

This we hope is great news for the many of you who have shown interest in retro shirts in the past and searched in vain to find what you have been after (or paid a premium price on eBay for an old one).

I think it's great news. Would just be interested to know whether it has affected the club's own plans for retro shirts, as I know Rhys Ellingham mentioned on social media that they were planning to do something similar.

Yes, the team that wore this were absolutely hopeless.

We missed out these words in the advertising for it  .... though maybe we can use them when our SUEPA model gets his shirt delivered and we then get our pics for a reminder bit of publicity:Think:

Hopefully you'll find a more successful shirt in the options for voting for the next one which I understand should come out in a week or so.

Sorry Im in the mustard camp, makes me feel sick just to see it, but great idea and I cant wait for that great navy shirt, which I shall vote for

Just to say we've been getting some great feedback on the Splat shirts - which also come as a baby grow. Adrian Clarke, a former Splat wearer himself, kindly agreed to model one and we've also received a pic from Baby Fitz in her grow.

The shirts are still available. Link thing: http://www.shrimperstrust.co.uk/home.asp?page_id=842

The Trust receives a donation from each shirt purchased

We understand from the manufacturer that deadline for orders to arrive in time for Xmas is 30 Nov.

We are also in the process of getting the 80/81 shirt done - we hope to be able to advertise availability of that, suitably modelled by a wearer of it from that great promotion squad (he is practising his cat walk moves already), in about two/three weeks

Then, in the New Year, it will be the Trust's intention to work with the manufacturer to get other Shrimper retro shirts available - we might look to run a poll (not 'Pole' as Trump says) on that to see which ones you'd like to see next

Did not know it was available as a baby grow. That's my son's Christmas present sorted

Yep, it's a grow that Baby Fitz is wearing but she elected to wear some jeans on top of the bottom bit to look a bit more trendy.

The baby grows come in two sizes

On the baby grow, or any shirt, you can have a name and number added at no additional cost
