Judge has thrown the case out!
"Mr Martin’s legal representatives applied for the case to be dismissed on the basis that there was simply no evidence to support the misconceived allegations made by HMRC. In a robust ruling, applying the first limb of the Galbraith test, His Honour Judge Hiddleston agreed, dismissing the charges against Mr Martin and quashing the indictment."

This is good news for the club, and for Ron Martin personally.

Whatever your thoughts about him, it must have been a massive stress on him to have this hanging over him.

He can be more focussed on the development of Fossetts Farm now this (and his son's wedding!) is out the way - which must be good news for the club!

especially for such an honest businessman as ron

HMRC are really bloody useless aren't they ? All the pandemic fraud to go after and they waste time on this (apparently) non event. Now this isn't hanging around hopefully we can really push on. Whatever you think of our owner this has to be be good news ?

This has to be a better outcome for SUFC than the case dragging on and on before finally going to appeal in four to five years time.

Agreed, anything that causes internal disruption or turmoil within the club is never a good thing although I appreciate that some of our fan base are probably foaming at the mouth at the news...

Is not a defermation the HRMS hs been found to be in the wrong .Surely Ron has a case to ask for a compance package As thay brought the case wrongfully so the judge has said .Hate Ron or not it seemes if indeed the club was placed under an embargo it was wrong and unjust.for once .
