Ronnie retires with immediate effect

Disappointing, but not entirely unexpected. I think this was part of the reason behind the Hollioake signing.

Cheers for all your efforts Ronnie, your shoes are big ones to fill, especially having lost Andy Flower and Darren Gough this year.
 
Sad, but of course expected, news :cry:

Ronnie Irani is right up there with Messers Gooch and Law as my favourite cricketer of all time, his desire and commitment were absolutely spot on, and the fact that he was pretty damn good too is just the icing on the cake.

Happy retirement Ron, and here's hoping you'll still show your face at Garons and the County Ground this year and for many years to come
