Roots Hall, some fortress.

Goals let in at home in last 5 league games:-

Norwich 3
Cardiff   3
Coventry 3
Ipswich   3
Hull City  3

Total 15 in 5 games.

Tilly's words in yesterday's Echo 'I was on the phone to three Premiership managers over the weekend and none of them would let me have players, so it's difficult.'

'I will keep looking though and we will keep working hard as we can to get out of this hole we are in right now.'

Steve Tilson used the words looking. If he was an expirenced manager at Prem or Championship level he would know whats what, not need to look.

I reckon over the many years, most clubs at Championship level and higher, have never had any real contact with S.U.F.C. We are thought of as little Southend, a small jumped up team who will soon be down to where they belong.

It's like a closed club up there, it's who you know. Now this is nothing against Steve Tilson. He has done wonders, as it happens to fast. He has spent his time in lower and non league levels. He had no reason to study or make contacts higher up.

We now have little hope of staying up. A defence that does not know how to defend. A team shot in confidence. A midfield that does not score. And a manager who is playing people out of position and often makes very late subsitutions.

I think Ron Martin as a businessman will protect his investment, as he has to. As 4,500 gates next year will not help his long term plans.

However, if there is no movement it will be a sign of his intentions for our club. Actions speak louder than words.

Keep the faith bs.... alot of us have seen this all before..... in a strange way ive kinda accepted that yes we will get beat .....on a regular basis.....but hey its great fun visiting these new grounds and bigger clubs so lets start enjoying it and just think of the feeling we will get when we beat someone......Wolves ....Man u..... dreams of grandeur..maybe but while we are there we have a chance.....
