The X-Files ran for over 10 years and is still considered by many to be one of the top American Drama series ever. With over 220 episodes it was without doubt the drama watch of that period.

I doubt there is a person on the Planet who does not know the names Mulder and Scully.

That is all for now, Vote X-Files please.

Only one winner here, the X Files. One of the longest ever running series, 3 films, mixed a running "arc" storyline with individual monster of the weeks, great characters, even the minor ones, like the Lone Gunmen. Some of the programmes are genuinely frightening.

Never seen Sons of Anarchy, but **** me, did the X-Files go on far, far too long and get ludicrous.

I'll think I'll sit on the fence on this one.

Sons of Anarchy has everything, violence (proper violence not cartoon violence) , fit birds, makes you laugh, has genuine pathos and tragedy, complex story lines that twist and turn and keep you guessing all the time. Its ****ing brilliant, I love it!

Oh I nearly forgot great tune's aswell!

I thought Sons of Anarchy started very strongly, but has really tailed off. I found the whole IRA link extremely distasteful as well. Also, it seemed like the Mum from 'Married With Children' thought everything could be resolved with a hug.

The X-Files was one of the greatest pieces of television that has ever been produced, and unlike MK, I thought it was excellent throughout. Robert Patrick was no Fox Mulder, but he brought his own brand of cynicism to the piece when Scully's had ceased to be credible. The films were good too.

Loved the first 4 or 5 series of the X-Files but was always gutted there was never any clear proof of EBE's. Went a bit silly with the later series but I still love it and that's why I voted for it.

Ironic that in real life Gillian Anderson is the believer and David Duchovny is the unbeliever

Plus I've always wanted to nail Scully.
