Time for me to once more try to get Roy through to the Q/F's, though it's another tough draw.
Brian Wilson - Shrimpero v Roy Orbison - Cricko.
Brian Wilson - Shrimpero v Roy Orbison - Cricko.
Tough draw this as they all seem to be at this stage, There really are so many Big O classics to choose from ,but here are a few of my favourites to kick things off.
Elvis Presley once stated that Roy had the greatest and most distinctive voice he had ever heard. While most men in rock and roll in the 1950s and 1960s portrayed a defiant masculinity, many of Orbison's songs instead conveyed a quiet, desperate vulnerability.

Definitely Brian Wilson IMO. Superior songwriter, although few can match Orbison's voice.
The best voice is surely Al Green or Marvin Gaye, or Barry White?
It'sa brave man that excludes Aled Jones....The best voice is surely Al Green or Marvin Gaye, or Barry White?

My thoughts entirely. Would take Orbison over any of those 3 any day of the week. Not if you think soul is a load of *****
C'mon man, it's gotta be the real Godfather of Soul, Michael McDonald.
