Is this the week, then?

Is this the week that Ron announces the new management team? The week that the team finally get some direction from someone with a modicum of authority?

It'd better be. Despite our appalling start, it's not too late - yet - to recover and have a decent 2/3rds of the season. But time is running out and you have to think that if things don't get sorted this week, then the "deal" will have hit the buffers and we will be in for more weeks of pain. Further, anyone else coming in will clearly not be a first choice so that is going to have an effect as well.

The team have been drifting rudderless for the last few weeks having started off in completely the wrong direction under the stewardship of Bond. One can only hope that the rescue boats have arrived, hopefully with new sails and/or an outboard motor so that we can now proceed to get ourselves out of this mess. Regardless, a new crew is needed in the New Year as the current one is too storm-beaten to be of much further use.

Thursday is a big day.

No doubt our sails are moth eaten and we are putting diesel into the petrol outboard, the crew fell overboard weeks ago and those left abandon ship after the first goal

I would suggest that it's already too late for this season. We are so short of being a side that can even compete with the poorest sides at this level as was evident on Saturday.

Our expectations must be low for HL and DK to get a fair shot at it. For my money, they have this season grace. Its probably the perfect time to make an 'experimental appointment', we cannot possibly get worse this season.

Low expectations can only be a good thing.

Wholeheartedly concur. Any more drifting of the ship and I fear a capsize or worse a sinking. Fingers crossed our belovet eam survives this. COYBB

It's not too late.

A few wins and stay in touching distance come January. Then we can ship one or two out and bring in superior quality.

We are far from done. Too early for that. But if we do not get some points in the next month it's more than likely curtains.

Im not sure where you get the "Not first choice" from.

We still don't know 100% who is coming in. We can only surmise. We have no idea who has been offered the job.

.

The point was that RM has scheduled a press conference for Thursday. It's not a well kept secret, the plan will be to announce Larsson. He has attended two games, Ron has been to Sweden. All noises suggest it's him.

If the press conference doesn't go ahead and the deal collapses, then who ever comes in won't be first choice. That's what I meant.

If at the press conference he announces Barrett or Campbell, then you're right; we wouldn't have known who was first choice.

I'd suggest we have just two games to turn it around. Lose two more and it's 1.5 points per game to reach the magical 45 (a win every other game at least). It's virtually that now but there is a very tiny bit of breathing space. Some big, big games coming up and on current form I can see nothing but heavy defeats.

Larsson/Kuyt have to work miracles otherwise start preparing for league 2.

This is only from the rumour mill and not from a more credible source.....The job was offered as a keep us up or your gone in the summer to the English type candidates.

If you cant even bring a player in until January and lets not forget for various reasons they wont be the best. Plus our history says it probably wont be until January the 31st
Then maybe thats why we heard the rather lame......"They took to long" excuse for not wanting the job.

It now seems Swedish/Dutch and finances included......Or Bust (pun intended)

That's pretty insulting, great man management skills there Ron, so inspiring.

Rather than Rudderless how about Laughing Stock.

Maybe Larsson and Kyut are going to pay us to let them manage the club.

As I say not from one of my credible sources but I certainly don't buy the took to long reason.......Ron may well do his due diligence but the problem is, so will any decent candidate.

We're probably going to need at least 40 points from 31 games. 1.29 per game.

That's near play-off form. We're relegated

The last time we were 22nd in L1 around the 2nd week in October we survived. The manager had to make a big decision and the fans hated him for it and some still do.

What was the decision?

I'm guessing Brown, erm getting rid of Prosser? A complete guess, only thing I can think of

Brown, but getting rid of AB after the debacle at Rochdale IIRC

Correct, getting rid may be a bit strong but certainly dropped.

The irony is if AB had been in charge on Saturday it would have been 3 years since his last league game and we were in the same position (with a lot more points)
