Russia

Are banned from competiting in all sports for five years due to doping.
Don't get me wrong, doping is bad and should be heavily punished, but strange that the authorities take such a strong stance on it, but racism, financial incompetency and fraud, and human rights issues (Qatar WC) are swept under the carpet. The IOC and FIFA are rotten to the core.

Money talks, I guess.

Also,

Russian teams have been banned for four years, (Subject to an appeal to the Court of Arbitration)

Their athletes will still be able to compete as individuals (Providing they have tested as clean) but not representing any country.

It doesn't apply to football or hosting their Euro match next year. So pointless.

Looks like more a case of the doping agency getting upset because Russia just ignored them. As we know with all ego inflated institutions, upsetting them tops any offence you may have committed in the first place.
