Had a great week in Korea, at 11am yesterday I was leaving a meeting no more than a couple of hundred yards away from the Blue House, where the President lives. The South Koreans are the friendliest people in the world and the food is fantastic but the impeachment ruling yesterday meant it was a funny old morning. More police than I think I've ever seen anywhere in one place, forget poll tax and miner strikes. Last weekend conservative estimates put the protestors at half a million. 70 per cent polls wanted impeachment and there was a real feeling that things could have turned ugly if the ruling wasn't upheld. In the taxi back to the airport the driver couldn't hold back his joy. We told him not to hold back

It's an interesting place. North Koreans up the road with their missile tests. Japan not yet forgiven. A country that wants to do the right thing but is so fragmented and bureaucratic. Not really a tourist destination but certainly worth a two or three day visit except that it's not really a travel hub. Maybe if you're ever going to Japan, that would work.
