Echo News Sam Hart and Simeon Akinola can still not feature for Southend United due to embargo

I'm not even sure our embargo would be included in that because it relates to pre pandemic. I think he's a bit caught in the midfle. Can't negotiate a pay plan because it means revealing his misty financial stuff and can't afford to pay it.
Think he was banking on deregistering players with private reregistering agreements, which I think he now knows the league won't swallow.
Unless he can talk injured players out of being registered he's stuck paying the signings with no chance of playing
I hope Hart and akinola don't get bored of promises not made good and find somewhere else

You've cleared the HMRC debt Ron, we've finally won a game in the league and the confidence in the players has risen beyond belief. Getting the embargo lifted would be the icing on the cake and it would give us, the Club's supporters, realistic hope that we have turned a corner after months of complete misery. Whoever reads the Zone for you, please, please, please get that embargo lifted.

Probably hasn't paid the phone bill so been cut off

Have had next to no income since March just like all the other clubs, which many are also under transfer embargoes but don’t let the facts get in the way eh.

Primary difference is most of those other clubs were able to build a stable or at least competent squad in advance of the season starting and before their embargo’s came into place, SUFC embargo lasted longer than some of the managers and started before COVID was even a thing, but don’t let the facts get in the way eh.

Was tongue in cheek really. it's true that Covid has been a factor but as Nevereatwhitesnow says, Ron has had us under embargo's plenty of times due to late payment. You can't blame it on Covid

And are now begging the league for payouts to cover the wages of said signings! That’s fair isn’t it?

I didn’t say that it was fair, you were seemingly comparing SUFC financial situation and embargo with other clubs when the root cause is clearly different.

At least they want to pay their staff. The scum who owns our club thinks it's acceptable not to pay staff on very low wages. All long before covid.

And we've been under embargo since.. December last year?

Anyway, he said it would just take a quick call with HMRC to agree a plan.

"
"Ron needs to make the call to HMRC to agree a ‘time to pay’ agreement as other clubs have done with HMRC and then the embargo should be lifted.

"He will be doing this in the next few days."

Just sort it out ffs. Otherwise we'll be enjoying our shiny new 21,000 seater stadium in the National League for many years to come.
