San Marino - le foddeur du cannone!
Sad to say my days of watching England have long gone, except when we beat the Jocks.
I Remember oct 17th 73 standing on the terraces at Wembley and seeing us fail to qualifer for the world cup against the Poles, dreadful night but that's when i cared. They've got a game against Poland next Wed. which should be tasty.
Either San Marino have got better or we have got ****ter. What happened to the massive scores against them? The 7’s and 8’s.
Is Grealish out of the picture now or injured.Their keeper did play well. I thought it showed that with Lingard and DCL we didn't have a clinical finisher in attack. I don't think DCL helped his chances even with a brace, and while Lingard offered a lot of energy and off the ball movement he isn't world class. Watkins took his chance well but won't ever get that much time. Chilwell and Reece James were very impressive and James is rightly keeping TAA out of the squad.
A lot depends on if Southgate is going to play 4 or 5 at the back. I hope he continues with the 4. as we created so many overloads even against a defensive San Marino (who credit to them stuck to their plan very well and played with discipline and shape).
Think I'd look at a first XI like this:
Pope
James Stones Maguire Shaw
Rice JWP
Foden Mount Sterling
Kane
Shaw could be swapped for Chilwell. Henderson could come in for JWP in the future (who's worth taking to a tournament as a set-piece specialist).
Grealish is still injured but it wouldn’t surprise me if he missed out on making the squad, injured at the wrong time.Is Grealish out of the picture now or injured.

Half right T i think the original gaff was out wide by Norman Hunter and then Shilton let it go under his body, the Poles actually went on and a great world cup the gits. That was when "the clown"according to Brian Clough was in goal for them and Bobby Moore gave away their goal, right?
