Scotch Eggs

Scotch eggs, your opinion?

My love affair started when I had to make a batch of four Scotch eggs in a (compulsory) home economics lesson in 1984 which my family consumed for tea that evening.

I am not so keen on party eggs (the small ones filled with egg mayonnaise) but they still serve a purpose.

I have a theory that almost any savoury food coated in golden breadcrumbs will taste better.

Used to love them! But I went through a stage of being obsessed with them and ate 6 quite large ones in the space of about an hour and was sick that night. Haven't eaten one since.

Tesco do a 'finest' Scotch egg. I have compared this with their standard Scotch egg and can tell no difference.

Fine by me, like them warmed through in the oven as well, outside goes all crispy! Only the proper ones of course, those little picnic version ones aren't the same.

I love them but one of the few things you can not get in Oz, along with prawn cocktail flavoured crisps and decent tv. (Aussie airwaves are dominated by reality tv/talen shows.)
