fifteen minute ago in interview with Chris Phillips,

Clohessy: "I've been in contract talks with the club. They have things to sort out but I do love it here."

He forgot to add "like paying me on time"

That is the bit that interests/concerns me.

Just a case of Brown working out who he wants to let go and determining his budget?

Or is it something else?

Either way, he must be kept on if we have any hope of challenging next term.

Another quote from this mornings interviews for you ... from the manager this time. Can't see this one happening, Lund for example. Don't think he will that keen to stay after being left out at Wembley for BM.
Brown: "I would be interested in keeping all the loan players we have here but that may be difficult."

Only Britt and tam out of the loan players have had any real impact. Reeves is a bit lightweight and Lund is too similar to laird/Timlin. As smiffy says keeping clohessy is a must if we are to challenge. Has developed a great partnership with Hurst and never misses games, an important factor in an injury ridden side.

Hope he stays. I have been watching Southend since the 1970's, and have never seen such an attacking full back in all that time. He will look even better if playing in a very good side.

To be honest what else is he going to say?

"I can't stand it here, fed up with being paid late and the manager is an orange arse" ??

Isn't that the generic thing to say just before they leave?

Remember a few others saying that and then clearing off, like Clarke.
