Seaway Leisure Plans Submitted

In today's Echo there is an article stating that according to the Government Southend Council is falling behind in the target figures for new housing, again a plus for Ron.

Partially true- what is of course unsaid is what has encouraged Ron to tweak his plan. Actually all good as good practice is to present a plan you know will be supported and passed

Retail as we know is near on dead on its backside. I think the tweaks always include more housing and that is what the council really want ( are told to by the government)

Covid 19 will be another huge nail hammered in the coffin of traditional retail and High Street store in particular. The council need to know that and think again, harder about this project. Empty retail units in more poor access precincts is not the future this town needs.
