Echo News Shrimpers wing-back Scott-Morriss has suspension confirmed

SOUTHEND United's top scorer Gus Scott-Morriss has been handed a one match suspension.
Scott-Morriss was shown his fifth yellow card of the season during Saturday's 2-0 defeat to Maidenhead United at Roots Hall.

Confirmed - Gus Scott-Morriss' suspension, and the 27-year-old will now miss the Shrimpers' trip to Rochdale a week on Saturday.

The suspension has now been posted on the FA's website and means boss Kevin Maher will be without Scott-Morriss, who has scored nine times already this season, at Spotland.

From sitting in the East it was wild and late, but he made very little (if any) contact with the player. It was certainly borne out of frustration and with the all round general uselessness of the ref, I am surprised it wasn't a red.

I would like to see Jack Bridge play in Gus's position on Saturday, as he's naturally right footed and so wouldn't need to check back to get the ball on his other foot, like when he plays on the left.

I'd like Jack to play in any position this season because so far he hasn't really played at all
